Barney Gene White, a resident of Dunsmuir, California, passed away at his home on Feb. 9, 2017.
The first of four boys born to William Troy and Laura White, Barney was born in Longview, Washington on November 8, 1945.
Barney and his brothers grew up in Port Hueneme, California, where he completed the 11th grade and then decided welding was for him. Barney worked in that field for approximately 25 years before he was involved in a work accident that left him unable to work.
Later in life, Barney enjoyed spending time gold mining with his daughter Megan; and searching for treasure with metal detectors. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved all animals.
Barney leaves behind his mother, Laura White, and brother, William White, both of Dunsmuir; two daughters: R. Ann of Florence, Montana, and Megan Cosco of Weed, California; six grandchildren; and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Troy White; brothers: Kenneth Sr. and Robert White; and his friend, Karen Scott.
A memorial service will be held for friends and family on Saturday, February 25 at 11 a.m. at the Cascade Community Church located at 5962 Dunsmuir Avenue in Dunsmuir, where he was a member.
