There will be a mass for Steve Memeo on Wednesday, March 22 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Redding, followed by internment at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Steve Memeo passed away peacefully at the age of 99 years old at Willow Springs in Redding, California on March 15, 2017.

Steve was born in McCloud, California to Gus and Lena Memeo on January 29, 1918. He met Pia Aguzzi while attending McCloud High School, they were married on February 18, 1939 and had 68 years together. Pia preceded him in death in 2007.

Steve owned the production part of the McCloud Dairy from 1952 to 1969. He finished his working career at Champion International and retired in 1981.

He took up golf after his retirement and was a member of the McCloud Golf Course. He was a baseball fan and loved the San Diego Padres.

Steve is survived by his three children: Stephany Checchi (and Bob) of Redding, Don Memeo (and Dolores) of Murphys, California, and Gary Memeo (and Lisa) of Cottonwood, California; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He also leaves two half-sisters, Angie Biagini of Santa Clara, California and Rick Nicholas of Redding.
