Mt. Shasta Nordic Center will loan the new pulk sled donated by Mount Shasta Rotary at no charge to encourage parents to get out on cross country skis with their children for exercise and to enjoy the trails.
Rotary member Merle Anderson said the club enjoys supporting health-related projects both locally and internationally.
Local support for Mount Shasta Rotary fundraisers such as the Castle Crags Century bike event and the Blackberry Music Festival enable the club to make donations like the sled, according to Anderson.
Volunteers for the Nordic Center have helped Rotary by hosting a rest stop for the bike event. This year the Castle Crags Century is scheduled for June 17. The Blackberry Music Festival is scheduled for Sept. 3.
