Douglas Lamond Daudell passed away at his home following a long illness on April 8th, 2017
Doug was born in Long Beach, Ca. on Jan. 26th, 1924 to Bud & Willie Dee Daudell. He graduated from Brown Military Academy in San Diego, Ca. in 1952.
After graduation, he logged in Alaska wilderness until being drafted into the Army in 1959. While stationed in Korea, he was able to take leave and hitchhike around 8 countries over 10,000 miles in Asia.
In 1964, he met and married the love of his life, his “sweetie” Darlene. He was blessed with 2 daughters, Dee and Dixie, and a son, Doug Jr. He raised his family briefly in Ventura, Ca. and moved to Mt Shasta, Ca. in 1967. While in Ventura besides running the Hoover Hotel, he worked for Pepsi as a driver/salesman.
In Mt. Shasta, he worked at the Weed Sawmill, and Patton’s Distributing until retirement.
Doug’s family was aways his priority along with interests included snowmobiling, ATVing, golf, cars, and watching sports.
He loved his 1974 Cadillac and he and Darlene attended many Cadillac club events and traveled as far back as New York in their car.
He is preceded in death by his parents and the untimely death of his older brother Mickey at age 18.
Doug was forced to overcome the tragic loss of his eldest daughter Dee in 1988. He and his family would be forever changed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Darlene Daudell: Daughter Dixie Cervelli, (Ron), and Son Doug Daudell Jr. 2 Grandchildren that he loved dearly: Tyler Cervelli and Casey Daudell. Their boxer dog Dollie Dee one of many throughout their marriage. And many other family members.
Graveside services will be held at Mt Shasta Memorial Park in Mt Shasta, Ca. on Friday April 14th at 11:00 AM.
Mt Shasta Memorial Chapel is handling the services.
