Donna Jean Moll passed peacefully into heaven on March 16, 2017 in Redding, California with her daughter Linda and son Gary at her side.
Donna was born on April 27, 1930 in LeMars, Iowa to Ray and Grace Berner. She grew up on her parents’ farm.
She graduated from LeMars High School in 1948, and attended Westmar College in LeMars. She received her BA degree in 1952, majoring in Physical Education.
On June 14, 1952 she married Lewis Moll. They started a family in 1953 when Linda was born, and Gary was born in 1957.
They left the Midwest a year later and settled in Mount Shasta, California, beginning their teaching careers at College of the Siskiyous in the early 1960s. Donna taught Physical Education classes at COS and was the women’s basketball and volleyball coach.
After teaching for several years, she worked as the church secretary at the United Methodist Church in Mount Shasta, and later at Grace Presbyterian Church in Weed. She was very active in both churches. Donna had a strong faith in God and many of her closest friends were from church.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Lewis in 2011.
She leaves behind daughter, Linda Buehling; son, Gary Moll; grandchildren: Stacey Main, Kristin Flynn and Danny Moll; great-grandchildren: Kieran and Caden Moll, and Brenden and Austin Main. She loved her family dearly, and never missed a birthday.
Donna will be greatly missed, but the memories of time spent with her are forever in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 6 at the United Methodist Church in Mount Shasta with Pastor Joe Morgan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the United Methodist Church, Mount Shasta, in memory of Donna.
