The Ridgecrest Planning Commission will meet today. On the agenda is a continued public hearing regarding property on South China Lake Boulevard, a public hearing on a new multi-residential apartment complex on Downs, an abatement public hearing and a discussion of the city's general plan.
First up is a continued public hearing on a plans to develop a four acre parcel at 899 S. China Lake Blvd., into five parcels for general commercial uses. The smaller parcels may be used for “potential retail and fast-food businesses,” according to a staff report. The applicant is Derrill G. Whitten Jr. of Cornerstone Engineering along with property owner PAM Ridgecrest Venture, LLC.
Next up is an abatement/public hearing regarding a property located at 505 S. Helena St.
Also on the agenda is a public hearing for a site plan review for a new apartment complex, Red Rock Villas, which would be three-phased 198 unit multi-family residential apartment complex located at 900 Downs. This project was first introduced to the Planning Commission for discussion on Nov. 24, 2015 and initial plans for an 112 unit residential complex were approved by the commission on Feb. 23, 2016 according to a staff report.
According to the report, the project plans are as follows: phase 1: 22 units, phase 2: 65 units and phase 3: 111 units.
Also on the agenda is a discussion of the city's general plan.
The Planning Commission will meet Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 6 p.m., at City Council Chambers, City Hall, 100 W. California Ave.
