The Yreka Miners varsity baseball team earned a 7-6 victory against the  Durham  Trojans at Hibbard Field Wednesday night. The  non-league contest was tied 6-6 the bottom of the seventh when the Miners scored with one out and the bases loaded to win the game.
YHS improved to 17-8 overall, while Durham fell to 8-14-1 overall.
Durham started the game off by scoring a run the top of the first inning and put up another run  the top of the third inning to take a 2-0 advantage.
The Miners responded the bottom of the inning and scored three runs to take a 3-2 lead. With the game tied 4-4 the bottom of the fourth, Yreka put up  three more runs to take a 6-3 lead.
In the top of the seventh, with the Miners up 6-4 the Trojans scored two runs to tie the game at 6-6. Yreka made sure it would come away with the win  the bottom of the innings and quickly put runners on base, as they came away with the one-run victory
Eamon Velarde went 1-for-4 for YHS with a home run, two RBI’s and a run  Jacob Gross finished 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI. 
Dawson Fraley went 2-for- 4 with an RBI and a run for YHS.  He pitched three innings in relief and earned the win. Kyle Woodward finished 2-for-3 with a run. Blake Shepard went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Dylan Quigley had a run and a stolen base for YHS.
Today, Yreka host Anderson in the regular season finale on senior night. The contest begins at 6 p.m. at Hibbard.  The senior night ceremony is expected to begin around 5:40 p.m.
The Miners took down the Cubs on the road on Tuesday, and are 6-3 in the Northern Athletic League.
Currently, Yreka is ranked fourth in Northern Section Division III playoff points. These standings do not include the Miners two wins this week.
