Klamath Basin Brewing Co. and The Creamery Brewpub and Grill

The Klamath Basin Brewing Co. and Brewpub is a family friendly causal eatery with in-door and patio seating located in downtown Klamath Falls, Oregon. They serve American cuisine with plenty of pub food favorites, including daily specials. In 2001 two friends started brewing beer in a garage. They grew their business enough to open a pub and expand their brewery operations. In 2005 they move into the historic Crater Lake Creamery building on 1320 Main Street. The iconic Blue Cow sign still marks the building.

Definitely a good choice for a hot summer afternoon! Made me wish I was in my canoe on the lake.

I counted 12 different micro-brews on their website that typically consist of 9 styles of micro-brews and 3 to 4 seasonal brews. Guest can refer to the big chalkboard to see what's in the "Guest Taps"; during our visit it was hard ciders.

They also brew Root Beer that my granddaughter says, "It's the best I've ever tasted!"

 

 

 

 

Michelle, our bartender has been working at the Klamath Basin Brewery for 9 years. 'I like it here!'  she reported. Michelle knows her beers and helped us select the flavor profile we enjoy. I got a River Days Session Ale and enjoyed the hoppy malty crisp flavors that were perfect for a hot summer day.  My daughter, Shelly had the Ace Pineapple Hard Cider which she found crisp with the perfect amount of sweetness.

We ordered a Patty Melt which was the lunch special with a side of French Fries sprinkled with seasoning salt. They were so  crispy and tasty we passed on the ketchup. The Patty Melt was serve with grilled sweet red onions on marble rye bread. I added good old yellow mustard and it was just right!

Shelly and I looked over the menu again wonder what we might order the next time we were in K-Falls. We spotted Clam Chowder and Michelle told us they serve it 7 days a week and it's good. She got us samples and we agreed it was salty, buttery, creamy and rich with clams. We'll be back!

The Klamath Basin Brewing Company is the only known brewing operation that uses geo-thermally heated water for beer production. Their water comes from naturally fed underground rivers that flow from the Cascade Mountains and Crater Lake area and provide our city wells with exceptionally pure water. The city heats many buildings and keep the snow melting on the sidewalks.  Geothermal energy used to make beer!
