“The Forgery Show” art exhibition created by Mt. Shasta area artists is scheduled to open at Morris Adjmi Architects in New York Sept. 28 and be on display there through Dec. 22.
The show features works by Art Roster Art Atelier artists under the instruction of Alek Balos. They use techniques from the Old Masters atelier system of the great European academic and impressionistic painting schools of the 18th and 19th centuries, for example, that of Jacques-Louis David, as well as the more contemporary methods, according to a press release.
The selection of works to be displayed features 21 pieces by 14 artists, including Balos, Dustin Bonivert, Leonard Brown, Karen Copsey, Janet Crittenden, and others.
Morris Adjmi Architects, located at 60 Broad St., New York, NY, states in the release that they “are dedicated to displaying art that inspires and informs the architecture being made in the office. The buildings designed by Morris Adjmi Architects are shaped by the city, but at the same time evoke a deep appreciation for the arts. In the office, the staffs surround themselves with a rotating display of artworks. The firm is dedicated to sharing this work through regular exhibitions.”
