Local kayaker and filmmaker Shon Bollock will be showing his latest Shasta Boyz Productions film “Wet Dreams” at Mt. Shasta City Park on Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. The event is a fundraiser for Matt Thomas, a well known southern Oregon kayaker, who recently broke his neck in a mountain biking accident.
“We planned on showing the film before Matt’s accident happened,” said Bollock. “We will use this opportunity to host a big raffle to help with his medical expenses,” he said, noting that the Shasta Base Camp will be helping to support that effort. The 45 minute film features local kayakers, including Devon and Ryan Knight and Ben Stookesberry, as well as Bollock himself.
“There will be some new footage from Upper and Middle McCloud Falls, Outlet Falls in Yakima, Washington, as well as lines on the Cherry, the American and the Feather Rivers,” he said. “There’s some cool time lapsed footage, as well.”
Bollock explained that he is currently putting the finishing touches on the film. “My father, Steve Bollock, is the narrator, and there is a really nice sound track as well,” he added.
The film will eventually go on tour in early 2010 as an opener for Huckin Huge's new video "Haymaker".
