Kathy Zavada will perform music from her new CD during a concert the evening of Friday, March 12 in Mount Shasta (the date was incorrectly reported in the March 3 print and E-editions of the Mount Shasta Herald, Weed Press and Dunsmuir News).
She will be joined by guest artist Roman Morykit of Gypsy Soul and a female vocal ensemble group beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Shasta Yoga Center, located above the Black Bear Gallery at 201 N. Mt. Shasta Blvd.
Zavada’s new CD “One Incredible Life” features 10 original songs, ranging from inspirational ballads to jazz/blues and gospel. She said the recording has been in the making for two years and was co-produced by Sean McCoy of Oregon Sound Recording in Central Point, Ore.
Roman Morykit is an accomplished guitarist, bassist and composer out of Jacksonville, Ore.
“I am so pleased to offer this new music,” said Zavada. “I have poured my heart and soul into each song, and the songs come from a place of deep self-reflection. There have been some pretty big events in my life over the last year and I find when I can express what it’s been like, and share that journey in a poetic way through music, people find it deeply supportive and inspiring. There are songs contemplating love, songs about gratitude, songs about the loss of a loved one, and songs that remind us that we have the strength and intelligence within us to create a life that feels good and brings good to others. This is my tenth CD, and I think perhaps my best work.”
Zavada’s 2006 CD “Return to Love” was on NAV’s top 50 radio play list, while her CD “Journey Home” was voted into the top 10 best new age CDs on Amazon.com for 2002.
A Mount Shasta resident, Zavada tours nationally, is a frequent guest speaker and offers programs at therapeutic boarding schools for teens that involve learning and performing musical programs.

Tickets for the concert are $15 and will be available at the door.
