World champion BMX Flatland Freestyle stunt rider from Cap City Stunts Pete Brandt will perform at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. during this Saturday’s Rollin’ Weed event in downtown Weed.
Rollin’ Weed also features a Show & Shine, street fair, food court, barbecue, waterslide and live music, including the debut of the newly formed Hop Creek Boys.
The street fair will have an array of items including local honey, handmade jewelery, antique, tie die and pottery. Plus the downtown shops are featuring specials.
A quilt show and kids activities will take place at the Mercantile; along with a Fruit and Veggie Exchange on the Merc porch.
A Weed Pride BBQ will be held at the Centennial Plaza.
A Main Street Pride fundraiser will be held at the Centennial Plaza, helping the efforts of the local group of citizens and organizations to raise the funds to remodel the historic downtown district of Weed. Plans include new cobblestones, lights, benches and crosswalks in Weed.
The Siskiyou Food Assistance will host a water slide fundraiser at the Tri Counties Bank parking lot. Play in the water all day for $5. Kids should bring a bathing suit. All proceeds go toward purchasing food for families in crisis.
SFA will also hold a Because Hunger Hurts Food Drive. Bring non perishable foods to the SFA during Rollin’ Weed.
Cedar Lanes All Day Specials include two free games per person; burger and soda or draft beer for $5; and Bloody Mary’s for $2.

The Hop Creek Boys are a newly formed band with members Jak Anderson, Jim Roy and Billy Shaver. Anderson, the mandolin player, has been playing guitar and mandolin for 43 years with a degree in music from Santa Cruz. He has played in funk bands and bluegrass bands, such as local group Panther Creek.
Roy, the guitarist, has 35 years of picking folk country bluegrass on guitar and mandolin all over the United States and now lives and plays in Siskiyou County.
Shaver has been picking the banjo for 10 years with backgrounds in bluegrass as well funk and jazz.
