Mount Shasta Police officers are “disgusted” by the blatant vandalism done to the Siskiyou Arts Bus during the night of Tuesday, July 13, and are currently searching for the responsible party.
Nearly all the windows in the Arts Bus, which is an old school bus that has been converted into an art studio, were completely shattered by large rocks. Glass shards litter the inside of the bus where children gather to create masterpieces.
A few windows of the Mt. Shasta library, which the bus had been parked next to, were also broken, however, it doesn’t appear that the vandals gained entry, said MSPD chief Parish Cross.
Cross said the vandalism is estimated to have occurred sometime between 9 p.m. on Tuesday July 13 and the morning of Wednesday July 14.
The Siskiyou Arts Bus Project is sponsored by the Siskiyou Arts Council and offers children free art programs.
