Mount Shasta’s largest annual event is being held this year on a three-day weekend, Friday, July 2 to Sunday, July 4.

It will begin in downtown Mount Shasta on July 2 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a variety of live music by local musicians and bands, vendors and sidewalk sales from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

This year will feature all local groups and individuals performing rock, blues, bluegrass, jazz and folk music, interspersed with circus acts between each group.

On Saturday, July 3 the fun will continue downtown from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Music and circus acts on July 2nd and 3rd are presented by the Mount Shasta Chamber of Commerce.

Sunday, July 4 will start off at 8:30 a.m. with the Mountain Runners Fun Run/Walk. Participants can compete in the running portion or walk the two miles.
Live bands will perform along the route together with roving performances by the Mt. Shasta Walking Circus, which consists of professional stilt walkers, acrobats, contortionists, hula hoopers, unicyclists, musicians, clowns, belly dancers, costumed characters, mimes, and more.

Gourmet delicacies from local restaurants will be available throughout the event.
Currently, registration is $18 per person, or $15 per person in a family of four or more. If you deliver your registration to the Mount Shasta Visitor’s Bureau, 300 Pine Street from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., or register online at www.mtshastarunners.com. Late registration after June 27 is $20 per person.

At noon the parade will be on its way. This year’s open theme is all about having a good time and allows everyone’s imagination to come up with great floats or drill teams.
After the parade the Mount Shasta Resort will host their traditional Customer Appreciation Day – listen to live music and get your favorite seat for the fireworks show. Summer Schappell will perform.

Fireworks can also be viewed from the Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort beach.
There will be circus performances at the Resort and Campgrounds, with a spectacular fire performance following the fireworks on the beach at Lake Siskiyou.
