Railroad Days steams into Dunsmuir this weekend loaded with live entertainment Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.
Featured on Friday night will be the Straight Ahead Band from Redding, known for their renditions of such classic hits as “Take The A Train” and “I've Got The World On A String.” They'll be performing at a special “Meet The Trains Event” next to the Amtrak Depot.
On Saturday music starts at 10 a.m. on the Upper Pine Street Stage and continues throughout the day, with a short break for the parade.
The hot new local swing trio Champion Club will play from 4 to 5 p.m. They're known for classics like the Billie Holiday signature song, “What A Little Moonlight Can Do.”
The group features Nathan Johnston on clarinet, Therese Condit on keyboards and vocals, and Dave Theno on guitar and vocals. They’ll be followed at 6 p.m. by the seven-member East Fork band from Grants Pass, Ore.
On Sunday the Mount Shasta-based Panther Creek bluegrass band will perform at 10 a.m., followed by the Ron Lovelace Band from 3 to 4:45 p.m. and the Mountain Gypsies Middle Eastern dance troupe at 5 p.m.
