College of the Siskiyous recognized nine staff members for their years of service during its annual Staff Appreciation Day on June 1.
“Each employee at COS plays an important role in the lives of our students and the communities we serve,” said COS President/Superintendent Scotty Thomason. “We are more than just friends and colleagues who care about one another; we view each other as family and we care deeply about working together to provide exemplary service to our community. Celebrating our staff and recognizing their commitment to this college is critically important!”
Connie Warren was recognized for 25 years of service; Debra Chambers, Jodi Dawson, Martha Gentry, and Dawnie Slabaugh for 20 years; Karen Chandler for 15 years; Gino Peruzzi and Josh Simas for 10 years; and Crystal Fahey for 5 years.
The event, organized by Staff Development Committee Brynn Fogerty, Kelly Groppi, Ty Speck, Stephanie Wroten, and Mary Mericle included professional development sessions, campus beautification projects, healthy exercise, lunch, and awards. The day was capped with a raffle of prizes for each employee who attended.
