The City of Mt. Shasta is warning city residents to boil their water before using it after E. coli bacteria were found in the City’s drinking water supply.
According to information released by the City, “Coliform bacteria were detected in a routine water sample on Friday, June 23. Four follow-up samples were taken at various sites throughout the water system, including the spring source. The other samples were negative for E. coli bacteria. These bacteria can make you sick, and are a particular concern for people with weakened immune systems.”
