The City of Mt. Shasta today issued a cancellation of its July 27 Boil Water Notice.

As of Saturday afternoon, July 29, the City announced it is no longer necessary for residents on the City water system to boil tap water or consume bottled water.

The City of Mt. Shasta Public Water System, in conjunction with the State Water Resources Control Board, “has determined that, through abatement of the health hazard and comprehensive testing of the water, your water is safe to drink,” according to information from the City posted on the Mount Shasta Police Department Facebook page. “The State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water has ordered the removal from service of water storage Tank 1 and chlorination of the water system until further notice.”
