NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Mt. Shasta City Council will conduct a public hearing at their regularly scheduled meeting of Monday, August 28, 2017 at the hour of 5:30 p.m. in the Upper Lodge at the Mt. Shasta City Park, 1315 Nixon Road, Mt. Shasta, CA 96067.

The first reading of the proposed zoning amendment will take place at the regularly scheduled City Council meeting. The City of Mt. Shasta is amending Chapter 18.22 of the Zoning Code to relax regulations on Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU). ADU’s, also known as “granny flats” or “mother-in-law units”, are independent living facilities located on single-family properties. The proposed regulations will require all ADU’s to obtain permits with the City prior to occupancy.

The proposed amendments are not considered a project under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) because they do not have a direct or indirect impact on the environment.

Should any person challenge the proposals in court, that person may be limited to raising only those issues raised during the public hearing or in written correspondence delivered to City Hall prior to the public hearing. For further information, or to deliver written comment, contact the Deputy City Clerk, 305 N. Mt. Shasta Blvd., Mt. Shasta, CA 96067, or telephone (530) 926-7510 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
