The Gridley High School football team has been playing some pretty darned good football of late.

The Bulldogs are 5-1 overall in 2017 (2-0 Butte View League). They've won four in a row.

But their toughest test of the season is this week when they travel to Sutter to face the Huskies in a league contest.

Sutter is also 5-1.

The Huskies are coming off a 59-0 win over Oroville. Gridley defeated Las Plumas last week, 19-18.

The matchup between Sutter and Gridley has been one-sided in recent years: Sutter won 63-0 at the Boneyard last year.

But first-year Gridley coach Matt Kemmis and his team are hoping to change that this year.

Elsewhere in the area, Live Oak (0-7) looks to get in the win column at home against Willows.

Biggs (4-2) is on a bye this week.
