Shasta Regional Community Foundation recently released a report highlighting the success of its 2017 North State Giving Tuesday event, Nov. 27, 2017.
The digital version of the report can be reviewed on the Community Foundation’s website at www.shastarcf.org/2017-giving-tuesday-report.
The 2017 online giving campaign hosted by the Community Foundation raised $1,016,423 for 123 participating nonprofit organizations in Shasta and Siskiyou Counties. The report indicates that 85 percent of the over 5,000 gifts received on Nov. 28, 2017 were $100 or less.
“Small gifts really add up to help our regional nonprofits to do great work in our communities,” said Community Foundation program officer Amanda Hutchings. “The results are an amazing testimony to the generosity of our region.”
This was the third year for the Community Foundation to host the online giving platform. The report notes that to date, North State Giving Tuesday, has raised $2,188,785 in unrestricted funding for regional nonprofits and public entities.
“Each year, we have been overwhelmed at the outpouring of support from businesses and service partners who make this event possible,” said Community Foundation chief executive officer Kerry Caranci. “We continue to celebrate the collaborative achievements that are evidenced in the results from this event year after year.”
The 14-hour online giving campaign is designed to raise the level of awareness of philanthropy in the region and to offer nonprofit organizations the opportunity to gain exposure and grow relationships with new and current donors.
The event is scheduled to occur next on Nov. 27, 2018.
