Volunteers with the Siskiyou Science Festival brought a little scientific fun to Sisson School in Mount Shasta Friday afternoon, May 18, 2018. Students enjoyed a variety of scientific games, challenges, and activities. One of the students’ favorites was the “AirZooka,” which, with the aid of a fog machine, shows how suction and high speed affects air. (Hint: it swirls in a ring!) Students also created masterpieces with Tinker Toys.

The Science Festival features an all-day event on Mt. Shasta Blvd. Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will include activity booths with hands-on activities for all ages and big equipment, too. Demonstrations of Mr. Freeze’s “Chilling With Mr. Freeze” will be held on the main stage at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Groovin’ High and Rockit will perform live music on the main stage.
