Slightly more than 1.25 inches of precipitation have been recorded at the California Department of Water Resources' gauge in Mount Shasta over the past six days, and more showers and thundershowers are in the forecast for the next week.

Rain fell on and off during Weed Rotary's Hops and Vines event Saturday at Bel Air Park in Weed, and a rainbow appeared to be arching over the mountain as the band Secret Society Handshake took the stage.

After a much drier than normal winter, the annual precipitation total recorded in Mount Shasta for the year beginning Oct. 1, 2017 has increased to 18.3 inches.
