Winners on Saturday during Railroad Days in Dunsmuir included Alex Mainaris, age 3, who accepted the Little Engineer first place trophy from event coordinator Sandra Hood.

The contest is judged for costume, talent and knowledge of railroad safety.

Twelve year old Elliot Bryant of Palo Cedro placed first in Saturday morning's Railroad Days River Run 2-Mile race, just three seconds ahead of Dunsmuir's own Joe Hatten, age 49.

The overall 5-Mile race winner was Felix Martinez of Redding, who crossed the finish line in 33 minutes and 19 seconds.

It has been raining and hailing periodically Saturday in Dunsmuir, during the second day of the three-day Railroad Days event.

Events scheduled for Saturday evening in Dunsmuir include an art reception at the Siskiyou Arts Museum from 5 to 7 p.m. and continuing live entertainment on the main stage near City Hall.
