The Mount Shasta Chamber of Commerce chose Tony Ginocchio as the grand marshal for the 2018 4th of July parade, and Ginocchio is sharing the honor with all Siskiyou County soldiers who paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we enjoy today in the United States.

Ginocchio served successive tours in Vietnam and earned numerous awards for heroism and wounds sustained in combat. But he says he will be “standing in for the true grand marshals,” those who gave their lives “to serve their country in a time of need.”

To honor them, Ginocchio is putting together a list of names of Siskiyou County veterans who have been killed in action in any war. He is requesting that names be submitted by calling him at 945-8979.

“Their blood was spilled on countless battlefields on foreign shores and in foreign lands too numerous to mention,” according to Ginocchio. “They paid the ultimate price to keep us free and enjoy the freedoms we have today... Please don’t forget them, for they are your past, your present, but most of all, your future.”
