Dana Joel Blockman passed away on July 9, 2018, at the age of 64, after a battle with cancer.

Born December 11, 1954, to Ernest Joel Blockman and Lillian Anita Blockman and raised in Mt. Shasta, CA. Dana was the fourth son of six boys and one girl. Dana graduated from Mt. Shasta High School in 1972 and attended College of the Siskiyous where he played football for the Eagles.

Dana was always a hard worker and worked many different jobs while in high school and college. Eventually, Dana would join many of his friends logging timber on the highridges of Northern California. Eventually,he moved on to work in construction as a laborer.

In 1982 Dana and his family moved to Fairfield, Ca. After many years in Fairfield Ca. Dana moved to Sacramento to be close to his father and grandmother; where he continued his work in construction. Five years ago Dana met his lovely wife Melisa, and they had two wonderful children. Dana’s family meant the world to him.

Dana was preceded in death by his father Ernest Blockman, his mother Lillian Blockman,his second wife, Tish Blockman, his brothers Raymond Blockman, Ervin Dimes Jr., and Michael Dimes.

He is survived by his wife, Melisa Oliver of Sacramento CA., daughter Rainah Blockman of Sacramento CA., sons Dana Blockman Jr of Sacramento CA., and Ernest Joel Blockman and wife Leslie Smith-Blockman of Spokane, Washington and son James Young of Sacramento CA. Also, survived by his brothers Greg Blockman of Vallejo, CA., Kenneth Blockman and wife Dawnial Blockman of Mt. Shasta CA., his sister Ernestine McGuire and husband Bill McGuire of El Dorado Hills, CA.; grandchildren, Darran Blockman of Spokane, Washington, Darric Blockman of Spokane, Washington and Devvin Blockman of Spokane, Washington.

Dana was a very gregarious person who loved people and life. In his life, he never met a stranger because everyone was a friend.

A memorial will be held Saturday August 25 at Mt Shasta, City Park upper lodge at 2:00 pm
