Dorothy Mae Lamb, age 95, a lifelong resident of Dunsmuir, California, passed peacefully after a short illness, on October 16, 2018 at her son’s home in Castella, California.

Dorothy was born in Dunsmuir on December 14, 1922 to parents Arthur and Mae McGee.

She has been preceded in death by past husbands, Michael Delgado and Richard Lamb.

She is survived by daughters, Martha (Lorel) Lindstrom and Patricia Delgado; sons, John (Anne) and David Delgado; also daughter-in-law, Joyce Delgado. She has 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was a dedicated and much beloved elementary school teacher in Dunsmuir for 33 years.

She had a strong commitment to community and was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma for 45 years, and was their treasurer for many of those years. She was also a member of Eastern Star for many years, as well as NARVE (retired railroaders association).

Dorothy was absolutely devoted to her family and loved spending time with us for any and all occasions. She especially loved going out to dinner with us.

She was an avid reader and actually authored two books. She solved cross-word puzzles daily, played card games, and was a very accomplished knitter.

As she had a wonderful sense of humor, she loved a good joke and loved to laugh. Dorothy was a great and grand lady who never ever passed up a chance to eat dessert! She will be missed.

A memorial service will be held at Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel & Park, 830 Lassen Lane in Mount Shasta on May 4, 2019 at 10 a.m. A memorial reception will follow at the Dunsmuir Community Building, 4835 Dunsmuir Avenue in Dunsmuir.
