Gusts up to 40 miles per hour possible
Taft and the west side of the San Joaquin Valley are under a wind advisory through Thursday evening and a freeze warning is in effect.
Wind gusts of 19 miles per hour were measured in Taft late Thursday morning on a chilly, blustery day.
Sustained winds of 15 to 30 miles per hour are possible in the more wind prone areas, the NWS said.
The advisory is in effect until 11 p.m. Thursday.

Overnight lows could drop into the upper 20s in the coldest areas, the NWS said.
