The Weed High School graduating class was awarded nearly $400,000 on Thursday night at the Senior Recognition and Awards Ceremony.

WHS principal Mike Ristuccia opened the ceremony by thanking the organizations and individuals involved in bettering the future for WHS students. “(You) help our students reach their potential and achieve their goals,” he said.

Representatives from each organization, program or individual presented the grateful and excited students with the following awards.

Katie McGee was presented with a check for $160,000 from the Montgomery GI bill at Weed High School’s Senior Recognition and Awards Ceremony on Thursday. Students were awarded nearly $400,000 total during the ceremony.

Nicolette Neel received the Emerald Apple for excellence in all three components of her senior project, the paper, speech and project at the WHS Senior Recognition and Awards Ceremony on Thursday.
