Passionate. That was the word most used in the valedictorian and salutatorian addresses to describe the Weed High School graduating “class of the decade,” also deemed “a perfect 10” by salutatorian Nicolette Neel.
The 38 graduates are setting out to make an impact on the future, aspiring to do so with their senior quote, “In our hands we hold the future. Give us today so we can conquer tomorrow.”
The class of 2010 is an example of academic and scholastic excellence at WHS, principal Mike Ristuccia said during the June 8 graduation ceremony. Class of 2010 members helped the school win its first overall Northern Section golf championship and hold the highest AP scores to date at WHS.
Among many other things, guest speaker Michael Gilmore shared what he said is the only piece of advice he ever retained from a graduation ceremony: “Do not pay off your Visa card with your MasterCard.”
