Five finalists for COS president, community forums scheduled

Community forums have been scheduled for late July and early August to give members of the public a chance to meet the five finalists for College of the Siskiyous’ vacant superintendent/president position.
The five candidates have been invited back to the Weed Campus for a full day that will include an extensive tour of the campus and meetings with the staff, faculty, administrators, and the community. 
Their day will conclude with an interview with the COS board of trustees that will take place in closed session. 
The candidates and their scheduled public forum dates are:
-- July 31 – Joseph Olson, Ed.D., Vice President of Finance, Copper Mountain Community College (CA).
-- Aug. 1 – David Smith, Ph.D., Chief Administrative Officer, Lamar Community College (CO).
-- Aug. 4 – Randall Lawrence, M.A., Vice President of Instruction, Olympic College (WA).
-- Aug. 5 – Linda Berry, Ed.D. Vice President of Instruction, Merritt College (CA).
-- Aug. 6 – Henry Yong, Ed.S. Vice President of Instruction, Taft College (CA).
Each “Meet the Candidates for COS Superintendent/President” forum will be held between 4:30 and 5:45 p.m. in Room 3 of the Distance Learning Center at the Weed Campus and will be broadcast simultaneously via videoconference to the Yreka Campus, Room 4.
