The Siskiyou County Special Investigation Unit arrested 24 year old MacDoel resident Nathan David Ericson near the Mt. Shasta Ski Park on March 16, 2010 on six charges of indecent exposure, said Susan Gravenkamp, spokesperson for the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department.
The arrest came after several reports of a man who allegedly exposed himself to at least six different females during the week of March 1.
Several local law enforcement agencies, including the Mount Shasta Police Department, Weed Police Department, California Highway Patrol and the Sheriff’s Department had been investigating these reports, said MSPD lieutenant Gabriela Tazzari.
Each agency then handed over the evidence they had gathered to the Sheriff’s Special Investigation Unit, who continued to work on the case, Tazzari explained. The evidence was then handed over to Siskiyou County District Attorney Kirk Andrus, who issued a warrant for Ericson's arrest.
Surveillance by Sheriff’s detectives indicated Ericson was at the Mt. Shasta Ski Park on Tuesday afternoon. Shortly after the warrant was issued, a pickup being driven by Ericson’s father, with Ericson as the passenger, was stopped by Sheriff’s deputies after leaving the on Highway 89. Ericson was taken into custody without incident at about 4:45 p.m.
Ericson was booked into Siskiyou County Jail on the misdemeanor indecent exposure warrant with a bail amount of $1,000. He was then released from custody with an April court date.
