Congressional candidate Col. Pete Stiglich will highlight the Siskiyou County Republican Central Committee’s Candidates Night fundraiser event scheduled for Wednesday, March 17 beginning at 6:15 p.m. at Michael’s Restaurant in Mount Shasta.
Running against incumbent Congressman Wally Herger, who has served the 2nd Congressional District for over 20 years, Stiglich says he hopes to bring a renewed spirit of conservative values to Congress.
“We are in the midst of a culture war and have few options. We can either fight for our cherished values and freedoms or compromise to the point America is no longer as we once knew it,” Stiglich is quoted saying in a press release.. “This is not a time for the timid or the faint of heart. This is a time to stand for something and inspire others to join us.”
Former Assembly member and state senate candidate Doug LaMalfa will also attend the fundraiser.
LaMalfa is in a race with former Assembly member Rick Keene for the state Senate seat being vacated by Sam Aanastad.
Also scheduled to attend the Candidates Night are all four candidates in the Siskiyou County Sheriff race, Parish Cross, Bill Reed Jon Lopey and Jim Betts, Supervisor Marcia Armstrong, District Attorney Kirk Andrus, Assessor Mike Mallory and Superintendent of Schools Kermith Walters.
The event will be hosted by Supervisor Michael Kobseff and his wife Lynn.
The cost is $30 per person. Reservations are required.
