The Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors at its Feb. 2 meeting ratified the emergency proclamation made by the director of emergency services on Jan. 20 following the severe winter storm.
Robert Rowley, deputy director of emergency services, appeared before the board to ask for the necessary ratification in order for the county to receive low interest loans and possible grants for debris clean-up.
Residents are urged to phone in damage reports to the Office of Emergency Services at 841-2155.
Also during the meeting, plans were approved for the Peninsula Trail construction project at Lake Siskiyou and the director of Public Works was authorized to seek local bids for the project, which is estimated to cost about $86,000.
Discussion continued concerning the Klamath Basin Restoration Agreement, which, if approved, could lead to the removal of four hydroelectric dams on the Klamath River. Comments were taken from about a dozen audience members.
