After the four feet of destructive snowfall in Mount Shasta last month, a Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service says we may be in for another round of the white stuff.
A strong storm will impact the Mt. Shasta area on Thursday, Feb. 4, bringing a period of heavy precipitation to the area through Friday morning, the warning states.
Heavy snow is expected for elevations above 3,500 feet in Southern Siskiyou County, with accumulations 6 to 12 inches around Mount Shasta City with 10 to 18 inches above 4,000 feet.
The storm will exit the region on Friday, however, a second storm will bring another round of wet snow to the area late Friday night and into Saturday.
The Warning adds that the snow is expected to be wet and heavy, so trees and other structures will be susceptible to the weight of the accumulating snow.
The Storm Warning is remains in effect from 1 p.m. on Feb 4 to 10 a.m. on Friday.
