The Dunsmuir Planning Commission voted unanimously at the Wednesday meeting to deny Family Recovery Ministries’ application for a Conditional Use Permit.

If approved, the permit would have allowed for the organization to establish a residential counseling facility at the historic Dunsmuir Hotel under the proposed program name “The Wall.”

Family Recovery Ministries has the option to appeal the matter to the Dunsmuir City Council.

The organization’s executive director Ron Plumb stated after the meeting that he is uncertain if he will move forward with the appeal process.
