Carolina Bianco Carpine passed away peacefully in her sleep, in the early morning hours of September 16, 2017. Carolina, the oldest of five children, was born to Francesco and Caterina Bianco on March 30, 1921 at the family home on Shasta Avenue in Weed. She attended and graduated from Weed Elementary and Weed High School in 1939. After graduation she moved to San Francisco and attended Heald Business College. Upon getting her business certificate she went to work in the medical office of Dr. Lista, in San Francisco. While living there she attended a wedding where she met a handsome sailor…her future husband, Frank Carpine from Boston Massachusetts. They dated for approximately 3 months before they got engaged and married on May 25, 1946 in Weed, Ca.

Immediately after the wedding Frank and Carolina moved to Boston, Massachusetts where Frank’s family lived. Carolina started working for Gillette in Boston, and soon found out she was pregnant with their first child. Carolina wanted to come back to California to be near her family and have Dr. Lista, deliver their baby. On March 22, 1947, Michael Carpine was born. Carolina wanted to be closer to her family and Frank agreed, so back to Weed they moved. Frank started working for Long Bell and Carolina was a stay at home mom. When their son started school, Carolina went to work for the Weed Mercantile Company Store in the office as a bookkeeper. Shortly after starting work she became pregnant with their second child, Josephine Carpine who was born on November 4, 1953.

Carolina returned to work and eventually retired from the Weed Mercantile in 1979. When Frank retired they spent their time taking trips to Reno, visiting family in the Bay Area and spending time with their five grandchildren. Some of their most memorable trips were taking the grandchildren back to Frank’s hometown of Boston.

During Carolina’s 96 years she had to experience the pain and loss of many friends and family. In 1994, Frank, the love of her life was diagnosed with Cancer and shortly after their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1996, Frank passed away with Carolina by his side. Through the pain and loss of those she loved she still managed to live life to the fullest. She made amazing friendships and loved to play Bingo and cards with her many dear friends. She also loved to travel and took many senior trips, and even made a trip to Hawaii to visit her granddaughter.

Carolina was preceded in death by her husband Frank. Her siblings, Mary, Rosie, Sam and Larry, and her daughter in law Irma, and son in law Dave. The family is comforted knowing that she is now reunited with Frank and all those she loved who have gone before her.
