Longtime Siskiyou County resident Daniel Alvin Zeller passed away on November 6, 2017 at Fairchild Medical Center in Yreka, California. He was 72 years old.

Daniel was born on October 11, 1945 in Yreka to Aloysius “Al” and Evelyn Zeller. He was raised in Yreka and graduated from Yreka High School.

Daniel served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he worked as a millwright at the L.P. mill in Weed.

Daniel enjoyed hunting and fishing, tinkering with wood, and gardening. He was a “jack of all trades.”

Daniel is survived by his wife, Gale Zeller of Yreka; two children, Brenda Harris (and Darrel) of Yreka and Damon Zeller (and Carly) of Mount Shasta; two stepdaughters, Stacy Armstrong and Tisha Clark; a niece, Kim McDowell (and Chris) and their son, Joshua; eight grandchildren: Hunter, Dustin, Kayla and Baylee Harris, Quincy and Finn Zeller, Luke (and Brandi) and Skylee Armstrong; and many close friends.

Daniel was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Zeller.

He was loved by many, and made friends wherever he went.
