Vince Delgado, 89 years old, a lifelong resident of Weed, California, passed away on November 11, 2017 in Bend, Oregon.
Vince was born in Weed on April 5, 1928. He married Aurelia Serrano on September 28, 1945.
He was employed by Long Bell Lumber Company, International Paper Company, and Bend Mill Works.
Vince worked for Weed Parks and Recreation for 23 years. Maintaining the cemeteries was always a labor of love. He took such pride in the upkeep and appearance of both the Winema and Lincoln Heights Cemeteries.
Vince was a devout member of Holy Family Parish. He always arrived early to say the Rosary.
Vince enjoyed travelling to spend time with family. He often showed up unannounced at a family doorstep with a gift in hand. He loved to shop!
It was always a joy to watch his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the many different sports they played.
Vince was preceded in death by his son, Frank; wife, Aurelia; and brother, Joe Delgado.
Vince is survived by his children: Bob (and Adele) Delgado, Vera (and Richard) Gilbert, and Mary (and Mel) Jackson; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great, great-granddaughter; and a great, great-grandson due in January. He also leaves behind a sister, Dolores Coulter of Little Rock, Arkansas; an uncle, Francisco Leon; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass Intention will be held for Vince on Saturday, December 16 at 5 p.m. at the Holy Family Parish in Weed.
A memorial service will be held in July when all 37 family members will be present at a Delgado family reunion.
