Elmo Antonio Franchi passed peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, December 3, 2017.

Born on December 12, 1933 in McCloud, California, he was preceded in death by his parents, Emilia and Antonio Franchi; and brother, Primo.

He is survived by his wife, Verna (White), after 57 years of marriage. He leaves his children: Caryn Anne Matter (and James), Kevin Anthony Franchi (and Melanie), and Jennifer Franchi Maupin.

After graduating from Mount Shasta High School, Elmo served in the US Military. He attended Chico State University, where he met Verna; and graduated from San Francisco State University.

He retired from United Airlines after 33 years of service as a Systems Analyst.

Elmo loved sports, reading, dancing and hearing his grandchildren sing and play music. He gave generously of his time, volunteering for community, church, and the local schools.

He was a beloved baseball and softball coach; his manner with children was especially gentle and caring. His manner of expression was brief and to the point, yet eloquent. He was a fair, honest, decent and humble man who will truly be missed by all who knew him.
