Rose Mae Price, a longtime resident of McCloud, California, went peacefully home to heaven on December 6, 2017 with family by her side. She was 95 years old.
Rose was born on March 4, 1922 in Salinas, California to Walter and Frances Shelton. She and her family moved to Santa Cruz, California when she was very young and she grew up on a small ranch there.
Rose married the love of her life, Arthur Price, when she was 19 and they raised 6 children together. She worked at the local hospital in Santa Cruz where she became the head of the housekeeping and ordering department. Rose was a life-long Seventh-Day Adventist and she was involved in the Dorcas ministry helping those in need.
In 1973, she and Arthur moved to Mt. Shasta, California due to a lack of work in Santa Cruz. Arthur was an auto body and paint technician and he accepted a job at Don Hilton Ford. After he retired, Rose and Art became busy in the firewood business together, cutting and selling large amounts of wood over the years.
Rose and Arthur loved their family and always opened their home for family gatherings and holidays. Many precious memories were created at their cozy home in McCloud.
Rose will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and someone who loved to help others.
She was preceeded in death by her loving husband Arthur, 4 dear children, Jimmy, Sammy, Carole and Candy, and grandson, David.
She is survived by her daughter, Audrey Eastman (Ken) of Prescott, Arizona, and a son, Leland Price of Roseburg, Oregon and 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
A private celebration of life will be held.
