Greg Munson, 70, went to be with his heavenly Father on January 21, 2018 at Clearwater Health and Rehab in Orofino, Idaho. He had been battling various health issues over the past few years.
He was born on September 24, 1947 in Ogden, Utah. The family moved to Sacramento, CA where dad graduated high school then attended C.O.S. in Weed, CA with honors. After graduation he served in the Navy as an air traffic controller on the U.S.S. Enterprise during the Vietnam War.
Greg married Colleen Shannon in 1973 and they began their life together in Weed, CA. In the early eighties dad became owner and Broker of Century 21 in Yreka, CA. He was a very intelligent, hard working, driven entrepreneur. He was a major factor in the development of Lake Shastina Golf Course, one of the original owners in the Golf Club and was the general manager there for 11 years before starting his next adventure in a computer programming company.
Dad had a big heart and loved to make others laugh. He dearly loved his family and was always there for anyone who needed help. Everyone who knew dad considered him a wonderful friend, family member, or boss. He never let his illness get him down but tried to always uplift those around him with his jokes. He will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Genett Munson, and brother Jeff Munson.
He is survived by his daughters Michelle (David) Crawford of Orofino, ID, Erin (William) Rocha of San Diego, CA, brother Brad Munson of Weed, Ca, six grandchildren, Rileigh and Grayden from Orofino and Jade, Jesse, Christian, and Justin of San Diego.
As per his request there will be no service but a family gathering at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Trenary Funeral Home of Kooskia, Idaho.
