Pauline Helweg passed away at home in Mt. Shasta, California on March 19, 2018 at the age of 72 surrounded by her immediate family. She finally lost her valiant two year and 7 month battle to lung cancer.

Pauline Cecilia Kenney was born on VJ day, August 14, 1945 to Thomas and Freda Kenney in San Francisco, California. She was the 5th of 6 children. Pauline was nick named “Peepsie” as there was never a “peep” out of her as baby. She grew up in the Sunset district, attended St. Anne's Grammar School, Mercy High School – Class of '63, and CCSF. She was licensed to practice cosmetology. She worked in the medical field most of her life, first at UCSF in the medical records department and at Mercy Hospital in Mt. Shasta as a Pharmacy Technician. Pauline retired after several years with Siskiyou County Behavioral Health.

She met her future husband of 50 years, Emil Helweg at his mother's beauty salon “Zenzi's” located in Miraloma Park, San Francisco. Peeps and Emil lived in Daly City, Novato, and later moved to Mt. Shasta, California in the 1970's. They were blessed with a daughter Heidi, who with her husband Jeremey, gave her two wonderful grandchildren, 19 year old Owen Ward and 10 year old Bayley Ward. They were the joy of Pauline's life. They will miss their “Nana Peeps”.

Pauline was predeceased by her mother Freda Kenney and Father Thomas Kenney and her sister Mary Christine (James) Brockhage. She is survived by her loving sisters Carol Plageman (Fred) of Brentwood, California, Kathleen Kendall (Dave) of Glendale, Arizona, and brothers Edwin (Maureen) of Novato, California and Thomas (Josie) of Kenwood, California. She will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pauline's life was centered around her Catholic faith, her family and friends. She will be remembered for her selfless ways in all areas of life. Pauline was a sister of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority since 1980 and participated in the numerous charitable activities that they endorsed. She was also a member of St. Anthony's Altar Society and a Eucharistic minister for the church.

She was a wonderful wife and companion, a caring mother, a thoughtful sister, a loving Nane and a true friend.

A Memorial Mass celebrating Pauline's life will be held on Friday, April 6th, 2018 at noon. The rosary will precede the mass at 11:30 AM, St Anthony's Catholic Church, 507 Pine Street, Mt. Shasta City, California.
