William E. Ove passed away at home in Lake Shastina on May 13, 2018.
He was 75 years old.
Born in Oakland, California to Earl and Bruna (Poloni) Ove, he grew up in Weed CA and spent his life in Siskiyou County CA and Southern Oregon with his wife Carole and their two children.
While Bill excelled at many things, including building beautiful saddles and working as a saddle-maker for many years, he never lost his love for the ‘road’, and thus spent 47 years of his life as a truck driver. He enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, guns, and animals. He is remembered as being ‘good with his hands’, creative, and very hard working. He enjoyed saddle-making, carving, carpentry, and building things.
He is survived by his wife Carole, his daughter Lisa Ove Schaefer, son Cameron Ove, as well as grandchildren Hilary, Ashley, Brittney, Ryon, Tyler, and Seth, and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Diane and Katherine. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Bruna, and his sister Erlene.
