Sharon Hannan, a resident of Mount Shasta, passed away peacefully at home with her family present on August 4, 2008, following a short illness. She was 66.
Sharon was born in Weed, California on December 31, 1941. She was a lifelong resident of Siskiyou County.
Sharon worked in retail sales and for the Mount Shasta Herald. She was a housewife and mother who enjoyed skiing, camping, boating and riding with her husband on their Harley. She was a member of Dunsmuir Sororities.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Donald Hannan; two daughters, Karen Benkosky of Mount Shasta and Tracy Martinez of Dunsmuir; a brother, Emery Chandon Jr. of Mount Shasta; and three grandchildren, Miles Martinez and Tyler Simon both of Dunsmuir, and Jennifer Walker of Santa Cruz.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jody Chandon; and her parents, Emery and Frieda Chandon.
A memorial service will be held this Friday, Aug. 8 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel, with burial at Mt. Shasta Memorial Park.
A potluck will follow the service at the Mount Shasta Elks Lodge, 326 N. Mt. Shasta Blvd. in Mount Shasta.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
