Hjalmar A. Henrikson, a resident of Cocoa Beach, Florida, passed away on January 27, 2010 at Cedar Creek Assisted Living, due to heart failure. He was 90 years old.
Hjalmar was born in Seattle, Washington on July 22, 1919 to Hjalmar Sr. and Elida Henrikson. He spent his summer’s in Mount Shasta for 30 years at the home that once belonged to Emily Frank. He attended Stanford High School and Write Tech School.
Hijalmar served in the US Army and National Guard. He was an active volunteer with the Red Cross at Patrick Air Force Base until his death.
Survivors include his wife, Helene K. Henrikson of Cocoa Beach, Florida; son, Jon M. Henrikson and wife Shirley of Mount Shasta; granddaughter, Joni Lynn Henrikson; three step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gunhild of The Bronx, New York City, New York.
A memorial service will be held Monday, March 8 at 11 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Cocoa Beach, Florida with Pastor Jay officiating. Burial is in Darien, Connecticut.
