Stella Teresa Nollman passed away peacefully in Roseville, California on December 24, 2009 at the age of 89.
Stella was born to Nickolas and Marie Kontos in McCloud, California. After graduating from McCloud High School she attended Heald’s Business College in Sacramento, California.
She worked for the United States Rationing Board during World War II and the Pepsi Cola Distributors in Mount Shasta.
She owned and operated an income tax and bookkeeping service for years, as well as Stella’s Dress Shop in Weed, the Capri Shop, The Truck Stop and Wendy’s Cafe in Mount Shasta.
She lived her entire life in Siskiyou County until recently.
She is survived by daughter and son in law, Sally and Dean Babcock of Citrus Heights; daughter, Susan Reather of Yreka, California; son, David Nollman of Anchorage, Alaska; as well as seven grandchildren, Cindi Smith, Aden Bynum, Tim Bynum, Shannon Babcock, Caleb Babcock, Susan Ortiz-Renteria and Sandra Barrera.
Also, six great-grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Sara Fitton, Alex and Emalee Sprock, Scarlett Babcock, and Miranda Barrera; and one great, great-grandchild, Lillyanna Fitton.
She is survived by two sisters, Lucille Riggs of Salem, Oregon and Joann Paul of Cottonwood, California; and many nieces and nephews.
She was married to Donald Nollman for 55 years who preceded her in death; as well as three of her children, Margaret and Toni Nollman, Donald Nollman; and sister, Jeannette Waldren.
She was happiest when she was growing flowers, collecting antiques, attending yard sales, and taking an occasional trip to Reno.
A celebration of live is currently being planned to be held at a later date.
