Ernest Pete Costanzo, 64, passed away of natural causes while working in his yard in Medford, Oregon on Sunday, March 7, 2010.
Ernie was born in McCloud, California to Ernesto and Ida Costanzo. He was the youngest of three sons.
In 1969, he married Anita (Tudy) Tucker. They were soon to celebrate their 41st wedding anniversary.
Ernie has worked for Oregon Freight Ways, Reddaway and Conway Trucking Companies for over 30 years, where his dedication, compassion and devotion to the people he worked with will always be remembered.
Ernie’s biggest joys in life were his wife, his three boys, his four grandchildren, and spending time camping and mushroom hunting at his property in McCloud, California.
Ernie loved watching his boys play baseball and other athletic sports in the Medford area and served as a president of Little League for several years. Ernie recently commented on how impressed he was with the improvement at the North Medford baseball fields.
He is survived by his wife, Anita (Tudy); sons, Tony, Greg and wife Paula, and Jeff Costanzo; grandchildren, Brooke, Chance, Jennika, and Jace Costanzo.
At Ernie’s request no funeral service will be held. We will be holding a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 13 at 3 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 772 Black Oak Drive in Medford, Oregon. Potluck dishes will be welcomed.
The family welcomes anyone that knew Ernie or the Costanzo family to attend the Celebration of Life ceremony to tell Ernie one last time how much he was loved by all that knew him.
Donations will be accepted in his name at: North Medford Baseball, C/O Activities Office, 1900 N. Keene way Drive, Medford, OR 97504.
