Thomas Rodger Gentry, a resident of Mount Shasta, passed away of natural causes on June 17, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Mount Shasta. He was 71.
Thomas was born in Parma, Idaho on June 19, 1937. He moved to Siskiyou County from Idaho in 1963.
Thomas was an equipment operator for Southern Pacific Railroad for 35 years. He was a member of the Model “A” Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Glenda Massey and Julie Van Der Volgen, both of Mount Shasta, and Ronnie Kennedy of Klamath Falls, Oregon; two brothers, Ernie Gentry and Lonzo Gentry, both of Idaho; two sisters, Mary and Jewel; four grandchildren, Heather, Chad, Nikole and Stacie; and four great-grandchildren, Megan, Jenna, Caidin and MychKayla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Gentry; and brothers, Herbert Gentry and Starlin Gentry.
A graveside service was held on June 22 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Shasta Memorial Park with Pastor Stan Terry officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Arrangements were made by Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel.
