Obituary: ‘Larry’ Solus

Lawrence Francis Solus, a resident of Mount Shasta, passed away on August 3, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Mount Shasta. He was 87 years old.

Larry was born in Weed, California on October 12, 1922. He was a lifelong resident of Siskiyou County.

Larry was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II; he landed on Utah Beach during the Normandy invasion.

Larry was a truck driver. He was a member of the American Legion, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, and Knights of Columbus.

Larry is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Solus.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on August 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Mount Shasta, with Father Michael Canny officiating. Burial was at Mt. Shasta Memorial Park.

Arrangements were made by Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel.
